Furlough Days Remain Voluntary for Local 700 State of Illinois Employees

To preserve the integrity of Local 700 State of Illinois employees' contracts as well as take the economic climate into consideration, Local Union and State of Illinois officials signed off on a memorandum of agreement for employees to continue to take 12 voluntary furlough days.

Local Union State employees - The Departments of Central Management Services, Transportation and Human Services - will be required to submit requests for voluntary leave to their respective agencies for a goal of 12 days per employee to be taken by June 30, 2011.

The employee will have to indicate the number of furlough days and if they desire, their preference for dates.

Sign-up sheet will be posted during the first and second week of November.
