April 11, 2011 City of Chicago Members Urged to Complete Questionnaire With the election of a new mayor, the City of Chicago is preparing to make one of the most significant transitions it has seen in several decades. Teamsters Local 700 recognizes that as residents and employees of the City of Chicago, you may be concerned about the impact these changes will have on you, your family and your job. At Local 700, we're offensive players, not defensive players. Rather than wait for the City of Chicago to approach us with changes that would affect our members, we want to approach the City with our ideas on how operations can run more efficiently and at a lower cost. Our goal is to protect your work by presenting the City of Chicago alternative ways to save money. To effectively represent you, we must have your input. We ask that you take the time to review, complete and return the included form. Input from you is essential to protect your jobs. It is ideal to act before changes are announced and this is your chance to let your voice be heard. We must have your input no later than April 18, 2011. You can fax it, mail it or hand it to your business agent or union steward – just make sure we receive it by April 18. By being proactive we can strive to help cut waste and promote effectiveness across the city – and that's something that's good for everyone. |
