Critically Injured Master Sergeant Shows Promising Signs of Recovery

After being critically injured in an on-duty crash near Springfield in January, Teamsters Local 700 member and Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Dave Taylor is making a slow and steady recovery.

Fellow Teamsters and Master Sergeants raised nearly $2,500 through a fund at the Illinois State Police Federal Credit Union to help Taylor's family offset medical and travel expenses.

Taylor will continue to attend physical therapy and rehabilitation three times per week. He walks every day and soon will be well enough to drive.

"More than anything, Dave is looking forward to returning to work," said John T. Coli, Local 700 Trustee. "That hard working Teamster attitude is not surprising, and we certainly are looking forward to his recovery."
