UIC Teamsters Celebrate, Support Retirees

Teamsters Local 700 members at the University of Illinois at Chicago celebrated a group of retirees on June 17 with a picnic and softball game at the UIC south campus fields.

Dave Wencel retired after 25 years, Penny Lee after 21 years, Kevin McGee after 16 years and Mark Walton after 30 years.

“It’s important for us to remember that retirees play an important role in our union,” said John T. Coli, Local 700 Trustee. “While current members vote and voice their opinions, retirees help remind us of where we have been as Teamsters.”

Local 700 would especially like to thank the following members who helped make the picnic special for these retirees:

Joe Fabrizio, Angel Lopez, Darryl Rice and Lenny Morris, who helped organize the picnic; Cynt Grover and Jim McNamara, who cooked; and Mark Wolski, who took pictures.
