Local 700 Secures Contract Improvements for Hundreds of Members
Teamsters Local 700 representatives and officials are always working toward fair and improved contracts for members. Below are a few of the most recent contracts:
Cook County Clerks
Members overwhelmingly voted in a new contract on July 5. Highlights include an improved system for requesting vacation time, clearer process for applying for bidded positions, and a better turn around time from the County on investigations.
Village of Mundelein
Mundelein police officers voted in a contract that improved shift seniority. Under the new contract, the most senior officers will be able to pick their shift by seniority. The contract also included compensation for a member who was previously denied a wage increase.
Village of Hanover Park
Members from the Village of Hanover Park ratified a new, four-year contract on July 12. Members will receive a 2 percent salary increase with retroactive pay from May 1-August 2011. The contract also includes wage reopeners each year.
City of Wood Dale Police Officers
City of Wood Dale police officers recently voted in a new, three-year contract. The agreement includes a 5.5 percent wage increase with full retroactive pay. Members will also see an across the board increase on longevity and an increase of one additional hour of time-and-a-half to the "call-in" language.
