August 22, 2011 JTDC Member Reinstated After Arbitration and Appeal After years of court dates and meetings, the perseverance of Teamsters Local 700 representatives and JTDC member Kenny Davis has paid off. After being wrongfully terminated in 2009, Local 700 representatives took Davis’ case to arbitration and won. The May 2010 arbitration award said that JTDC must reinstate Davis. Though JTDC officials appealed the case, Local 700 stood behind Davis every step of the way. On Aug. 1, 2011, the courts again ruled in favor of Local 700 and said JTDC must reinstate Davis. “This is a great example of how members and Local 700 representatives worked together to achieve this amazing outcome,” said John T. Coli, Local 700 Trustee. “We always have and will continue to stand by our members.” |
