Contract Negotiations Continue for Several Units
Local 700 Representatives Work Towards Agreements Across the State
Teamsters Local 700 representatives are always on the move negotiating contracts. Below is an update for a few ongoing negotiations.
Cook County Court Service Deputies
The most recent negotiation session was Sept. 15. Local 700 representatives reviewed the County’s proposal on wages. The financial portion of negotiations is in the final stages.
Village of Mokena
Two negotiations sessions have been held over the summer, with a new one to be scheduled soon. The union recently proposed a three-year contract and the village responded with a proposal for a one-year contract.
Markham
The union will be holding a membership meeting for Markham members at 4 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the Park District Building at 162nd and Laflin to discuss the status of negotiations. The next negotiating session is scheduled for Sept. 13.
Insurance and wages remain the two top issues the union and city are disagreeing over. The city recently rejected a proposal by Local 700 that would have settled the contract.
Maywood Police Department
Negotiations for Maywood part time police officers began Tuesday, Sept. 13.
