Members ‘Pull’ Together to Raise Funds for Special Olympics
City of Chicago Members Participate in Annual Plane Pull

Teamsters Local 700 members working at O’Hare International Airport pooled their strength together to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics in their annual Plane Pull.

“This was an amazing feat,” said William P. Logan, Local 700 Assistant Trustee. “That our Teamster men and women pulled a plane across a runway to raise money for such a great cause was both amazing and inspiring.”

O’Hare Foremen Char McCue and Greg Kendricks headed Local 700’s team, “Snow Busters,” with help from O’Hare driver Wendi Winters. The team raised over $1,000.

The team of 20 pulled the 180,000 pound jumbo jet 20 feet in 8.32 second, placing them third overall.

“These men and women have the true Teamster spirit,” said Becky Strzechowski, Local 700 Assistant Trustee. “This is the perfect example of Teamsters going beyond themselves and pushing their limits for a great cause.”
