Local 700 representatives attended a Water Reclamation meeting on Dec. 1 and observed the signing of the contract. Metropolitan District Water Reclamation Vote Unanimously to Ratify Contract Teamsters Local 700 members at the Metropolitan District Water Reclamation voted unanimously to ratify a new contract on Nov. 3. The new three-year contract maintains all 14 holidays and all vacation days while guaranteeing prevailing wages rates until June 30, 2017. The contract also includes a guarantee of work for life of the CBA clause. This means that the district will not reduce the number of Truck Driver positions in existence as proposed in the Executive Director’s recommended 2012 budget. “To secure a contract like this in the current economy is outstanding,” said William P. Logan, Local 700 Assistant Trustee. “The guarantee of work is something that is harder and harder to come by. This is just one more example of how Teamster representation equals a stronger contract.” Teamsters Local 700 representatives observed a Water Reclamation meeting on Dec. 1, at which time the contract was signed. |
