Contract Negotiations Continue for Several Units
Teamsters Local 700 representatives are always on the move negotiating contracts. Below is an update for ongoing negotiations.
South Chicago Heights Police Department
Members at the South Chicago Heights Police Department voted to ratify a new, three-year contract in mid-October. The contract includes a 6.25 percent wage increase over the life of the contract, an increase in holiday pay and the ability to “sell back” unused sick time for the purposes of retiring early.
City of Oak Forest Dispatchers
Members working for the City of Oak Forest Dispatchers ratified a new, two-year contract. The contract includes a 4 percent wage increase over the life of the contract, increased bereavement leave, an early retirement incentive, additional overtime compensation for training new hires and a cap on part-time employees and minimum staffing levels of full-time employees.
Roberts Park Fire Protection
Local 700 representatives and bargaining committee members met with Roberts Park officials on Oct. 20 to continue negotiations. Several tentative agreements were made dealing with adding titled position engineers to the bargaining unit, increasing acting out position compensation and increasing education incentive. The next negotiation session is scheduled for Nov. 17, when Local 700 representatives hope to wrap up the contract.
Maywood Police Department
Negotiations were scheduled for Oct. 20, but Maywood officials needed to reschedule. The next negotiation session is rescheduled for Nov. 17.
Calumet City Clerks
