January 13, 2012 Traffic Services Foreman Earns Masters in Finance at 58-Years-Old When Yvone Love was in high school, she made a promise to herself. She told herself that she would work to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. On Friday, Dec. 16, her dream was realized as she crossed the stage at Roosevelt University to receive her Masters in Finance. “It was something that I had promised myself,” Love said. “It feels like I’m on top of a mountain.” Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Finance, Love says she plans on continuing her work in Traffic Services. She said her fellow Teamsters helped keep her motivated through the six years it took her to earn the degree. “I did think of them as I was doing it,” she said. “I was thinking about how what I was doing is something that could help all of us.” “Yvone is truly an inspiration,” said Becky Strzechowski, Local 700 Secretary-Treasurer. “She’s really one of those people that never stops moving and never stops working, and that’s something I know all Teamsters can be proud of.” |
