Applications Available for Cheryl Johnson International Teamsters Women’s Caucus Scholarship

Children of active or retired Teamster members are encouraged to apply for the Cheryl Johnson International Teamsters Women’s Caucus Scholarship.

The International Teamster Women’s Caucus (ITWC) awards two $500 scholarships annually to high school seniors based on academics. Males and females are eligible.

“The Teamsters offer numerous scholarships to reward academically astounding teens,” said William P. Logan, Local 700 President. “My hope is that all Teamsters will encourage their children to take advantage of this opportunity.”

To apply, complete the application and include the following information:
* An official high school transcript, which includes class rank and GPA/GED certificate and applicable records OR SAT or ACT results; and
* Proof of Teamster parent/guardian membership status.

In addition, applicants must attach an essay of 500-750 words on the following topic: “How can unions motivate our youth and women in particular to become involved in the union?”
