Teamster Military Assistance Program Available to All Veterans

If you are an American military veteran or related to a veteran, Teamsters Local 700 wants to make you aware of a new benefit assistance opportunity available through the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
The Teamsters Military Assistance Program was recently established to help Teamster military veterans identify presumptive illnesses or disabilities related to military service, and recoup or receive benefits owed to them. In a short period of time, the Teamsters have already filed claims for more than 2,000 veterans, many of whom were unaware of disabilities the Department of Veterans Affairs has identified for benefit.
Some of the presumptive illnesses related to service can include diabetes, high blood pressure and certain types of cancer. Filing a claim through the Teamsters Military Assistance Program can help veterans recognize important medical issues and establish new monthly benefits or extended benefits for their families. Many Teamster veterans who have filed claims have received additional monthly income and a lump sum payment for their disabilities.
It is important to Teamsters Local 700 that we identify our veterans and do whatever is possible to support them. If you or a loved one served in the military at any time, please take a few moments to download and complete the registration form below for the Teamsters Military Assistance Program.
Completed forms should be returned to the local union hall or to the offices of Teamsters Joint Council 25, 1300 W. Higgins Road, Suite 220, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Information provided will be forwarded to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Representatives from the Teamsters Military Assistance Program and/or a certified claims adjuster will contact you directly regarding your eligibility to file a claim or to receive future disability benefits.
