Chief Steward, Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Patrick O'Driscoll Dies
Master Sergeant Patrick O'Driscoll, Chief Steward for the Illinois State Police M/Sgt unit, died in a boating accident Sunday morning in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Pat and his daughter were hit by another boat while riding on a jet ski. Pat was killed and his daughter Maura was injured.
“Pat was a true friend to me and to all of Local 700. He was honest and loyal and he cared deeply for the members of our union. His death is a real tragedy,” said Becky Strzechowski, Local 700 President. “Even in the most difficult situations, Pat never lost his smile and could find a way to laugh. He loved life and his family. We should remember to keep his wife Beth and children Fintan and Maura in our prayers.”
A visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines, IL.
Funeral services will include a mass at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 10, at St. Paul of the Cross, 320 S. Washington St., Park Ridge, IL. The funeral visitation will begin at 8 a.m., and the procession will leave Oehler Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL.
