Local 700 Members,

At the August 6th Special Membership Meeting, Local 700 members voted overwhelmingly to approve the purchase of the new Local 700 headquarters at 1910 South Highland Ave. in Lombard, Illinois. This momentous vote and acquisition will strengthen our union and bolster our membership for generations to come.

The facility at 1910 South Highland Ave. gives our union a new home to expand our member services while providing financial stability for the long term. This income generating property provides us more space, easier access, and more parking while eliminating costly rent and other expenses. We examined this potential purchase for months, considering all benefits and costs, before putting this proposal on the table for members to consider and vote on. With the members' approval, we will move forward on this critically important purchase.

On behalf of the Executive Board, I thank the members of Local 700 for entrusting your leadership team with this historic decision. We will continue to keep the membership updated on the purchase of this property and transition to the new Local 700 headquarters.
